Serving Up Hope: Tri-Star Volleyball’s First Parent/Daughter Charity Event
Tri-Star Volleyball of Mt. Juliet held its first-ever Parent/Daughter Charity Event on Sunday, September 28th, at Charlie Daniels Park. Teams were made up of two adults and two girls from the Tri-Star Volleyball program, and each team donated to participate. Once teams were formed, they were divided into either the Beginners Division or the Advanced Division.
Before the competition began, Tri-Star Volleyball Coach, Chip Bailey, gathered all participants on the sand volleyball court to present Sherry’s Hope with a $2,000 check. Bailey shared, “Our league motto is ‘leaders serve’ because we believe that every person’s duty to God is to serve others. This motto is printed on the back of all of our shirts and team gear! We knew we wanted to find a local nonprofit to give back to through this event, and when we found Sherry’s Hope, we knew it was the perfect fit! We love that they not only support local cancer patients, but that they do it all in the name of Christ.”
Sherry’s Hope Executive Board Member Kevin Bass and Marketing Director Kezney Hoot were present to accept the donation, share their gratitude, and answer questions from those attending. Bass noted, “Sherry’s Hope assists families with expenses caused by cancer in Wilson County and surrounding communities. Because our office is located in Lebanon, many people often misunderstand where our service areas are. This event truly was an answered prayer, as we have been seeking a way to share about Sherry’s Hope in Mt. Juliet. It was such a blessing to connect with this community and let them know we are here to help. We are so grateful to Tri-Star Volleyball for choosing us to be the beneficiaries of this awesome event.”
After the check presentation, the fun began as teams faced off on the sand. At the end of the day, only two champions could be named. In the Beginners Division, team Final 4 took home the trophy, while in the Advanced Division, the Sand Blasters were crowned champions.
Sherry’s Hope is deeply grateful for the generosity of Tri-Star Volleyball, the families who participated, and everyone who made the first Parent/Daughter Charity Event such a success. Together, they helped make a lasting impact on local families facing cancer.
